Jill Shanahan (she/her)

Jill Shanahan is a queer, neurodivergent, harm reductionist, and is a person in recovery from chaotic alcohol use. She has a bachelor's degree from UMass Dartmouth and spent 15 years working in Massachusetts with people who use drugs; in drop in centers, syringe service programs and other settings. Over this time working directly with people using drugs and later supporting staff in direct service roles and expanding programs as an assistant director, she became increasingly aware of the lack of support for folks experiencing trauma, distress and grief, who continue to work in increasingly worsening circumstances. Jill met Franklin Cook in 2017 and is now helping build the Direct Service Provider program for /SADOD/PSCP. She is currently a facilitator for CPGS Grief Support group for those in recovery.

Jill is a member of the Massachusetts Harm Reduction Advisory Counsel and works closely with her peers and BSAS to help support the Harm Reduction and Syringe Service Programs, in the way of consulting, training and helping build institutional memory for BSAS programs. She is currently working towards her 300hr Yoga Teacher Training.
